"My, what beautiful blossoms we've had this year. But look, this one's late. But I bet that when it blooms, it will be the most beautiful of all."
--Fa Zhou "Mulan" 1998
The flowers are blooming with the approach of Spring. Having been a late bloomer, it's finally nice to be ahead of the budding curve. I send my thanks to Caitlin Donovon Photography and Phoebe Goodwin Make-up, who, as they have done previously in Feline Fresh, teamed together and created this Spring-inspired fashion photo shoot. Spring is romantic, sweet, soft, and subtle. With my sheer long-sleeved Forever 21 dress (with a detailed neckline) and H&M romper--both black and both short--I am still styling a soft look. I'm sweet in black, rather than the typical, predictable edgy.
One day I will take my family to China or Japan or anywhere in Asia to watch the cherry blossoms fill the tops of trees with pink petals. We'll walk among the rows of trees, the light breeze whispering to the flowers and carrying them from their branches back to the earth.
I send my love to Japan, to my roots, to my ancestors' home, where I hope that when the cherry blossoms bloom this year, people will have found their loved ones, received the help they need, and sleep at night beneath a sturdy roof, peaceful and fast asleep.

Found your blog via the comment you left on Disarming Darling's post about expensive fashion vs. thrifted fashion. Couldn't agree with you more.
